What’s the best thing about being a tutor?
The best part for me is watching a student’s confidence grow. That moment when something “clicks” and they realise they can do it is incredibly rewarding. It’s not just about maths skills – it’s about building belief in themselves.
What advice would you give any parent who is looking for a tutor for their child? 
I’d say look for a tutor who makes your child feel comfortable asking questions. The right relationship is just as important as the subject knowledge.
What is one piece of advice you give your tutees about their learning?
Believe you can do it. Maths can look scary at first, but with a bit of practice and self-belief, it always starts to make sense.
Do you have any news you would like to share about your tutoring service?
I have one evening space for a new student as well as some daytime slots for home learners. I am also working on a new digital resource for National 5 - watch this space!
